Chapter 15: Battling Fatigue While Trucking

In the cab with Dee, the night feels heavy. The road keeps unrolling into darkness, mile after mile, and that deep fatigue starts pooling behind his eyes no matter how much coffee he forces down. Coffee used to work. Now it’s just something warm to hold while the body keeps begging to shut off. So Dee reaches for something stronger. He blasts Rush until the cab vibrates, and Neil Peart’s lyrics slice through the tired like a clean truth, talking about standing alone, thinking for yourself, refusing to be swallowed by the world. The music keeps him awake, but it does more than that. It reminds him who he is. The drums become his pulse, the words become his focus, and for a while, Dee isn’t just driving. He’s staying alive on purpose.
