I never planned on being a writer. Not in the traditional sense, anyway. I didn’t grow up with a typewriter in my room or scribble poems in secret notebooks. But I did grow up with stories, the kind passed down over dinner tables, whispered in broken dialects, and burned into memory like sacred rites. Stories that made me feel haunted, human, and somehow whole. Stories I couldn’t forget. This space, this blog, is where I finally get to bring those stories to light. Whether you found me through my novel, stumbled across my words by accident, or are just here out of curiosity, I want to thank you. This is the start of something honest. Raw. Maybe even a little dangerous. Because writing, to me, is about saying the things we’re told to bury. It’s about remembering the ones we’ve lost, and the versions of ourselves we’re still trying to become. Here, I’ll share parts of my writing journey, the struggle, the fire, the doubt, the process. You’ll get sneak peeks into what I’m working on, what inspires me, and what keeps me up at night. You might find cultural reflections, deep dives into character development, or just a few lines that I couldn’t shake off until I wrote them down. This isn’t a space for perfection. This really got to me. The way you talked about stories being passed down and burned into memory — that’s exactly how it feels growing up with those kinds of moments. I’ve lived them too, and reading this made me feel seen. I’m proud of you for opening up and sharing all of this. It’s not easy to write the things we were told to stay quiet about, but you’re doing it. And it matters.
